We recently interviewed our wonderful moncierge, Chantal to hear about her experiences with mtime. We asked about the “ahhh” moments our Moncierges create for the families they work for, and why they joined us at mtime!
Our Moncierges are trained to strive to create “ahhh” moments for the families they're matched with. But what is an “ahhh” moment?
Well, have you ever come home from a really intense day at work to find that someone has already tidied up the house, made dinner and taken care of your chores? The relief of not having to do any additional work after such a busy day can be so nice that many of us will involuntarily let out a big sigh and say “ahhh”.. That's it!
Where are you from?
Why did you become a Moncierge?
I liked the idea of combination in the Moncierge role – cooking, cleaning and childcare. I especially love cooking.. and sharing that with others!
What was it like the first time you met your family?
It is exciting to meet a new family, to get to know them and build a positive and trusting relationship, so that I can best meet their needs.
What was a great moment you've had with your family?
A message from a client at the end of the day – that said she appreciated coming home from work to a fresh home.. & that she felt nurtured and cared for.
What do you do to create “ahhh” moments for your family?
I sometimes do an extra or unexpected task for my clients. I will often check with my clients if they would like to add or change anything on their task list. I may also leave a note for my client at the end of my session, or offer a suggestion of another task that I could fit into my session, if time permits.
Why do you think self–care is important for busy parents?
If you can take the daily life stresses away from busy parents, they are more likely to be happier and have more time to give the best of themselves in their work and family life.
What is the best thing about being a Moncierge?
My clients are lovely to work for! I have a good work/life balance. I can choose the days and hours that I wish to work.
Is there anything you'd like to share? E.g. recipes, games, activities you do with your family.
5 MINUTE MILLION DOLLAR DIP:
(It is only 5 ingredients and they do not call it a million–dollar–dip for nothing! It is delicious and will be the biggest hit wherever it goes!)
- 5 green onions, chopped
- 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1&1/2 cups mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup pan–fried bacon bits
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
Add green onions, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, bacon bits and slivered almonds to a small bowl. Mix until combined and chill for at least 2 hours. Serve with your favorite crackers.
Tip: To make a healthier version you can switch the mayonnaise for greek yoghurt.
